One Day. Three Questions. — A Healthy Church Workshop
We want to give special thanks to Pastor Mike Freeman of Valley Christian Fellowship and Robert Zink of Northwest Independent Church Extension for hosting this event, as well as to our special guest, Stephen Wheeler of Southern California Seminary and White Fields Ministry. Their partnership and heart for the gospel make this gathering possible.
A healthy church is never an accident. It's the fruit of vision, faithfulness, and patient work over time. In the rhythm of everyday ministry, the most important questions are often the ones no one stops to ask: Why does the church still matter? What must it become? And how does it grow and endure for the long haul? Yet these are the questions that set the direction — and answering them with clarity and conviction is what charts a clear way forward.
Healthy Church Longview is one day set apart to face those questions together, and to leave with Scripture-centered answers and a practical roadmap for wherever you stand on the journey.
What we'll explore
Why does the church still matter? — We begin at the foundation: the church's mission and purpose. Before strategy or structure, we return to why the church exists at all, and why it still matters in this cultural moment.
What must the church become? — Through the 7 Metaphors for Building a Healthy Church, we'll explore the identity God intends for His people and what it looks like to grow into it.
How does the church grow and endure? — Every church moves through seasons. Using the 5 Phases of the Church Plant Lifecycle, we'll map the stages of growth and offer a practical, biblical framework for discerning where you are and what comes next.
Where do we go from here? — We'll close with an open discussion on next steps for church planting in Canada: a chance to ask questions, share challenges, and think together about the road ahead.
Who it's for
Church planters, pastors, and ministry leaders who want clarity on where they are and confidence about what comes next — whether you're just getting started or guiding an established church through change.
